Qualitative Social Researcher
Job description
Ready to create insights that change the world?
Our client is an award-winning social and commercial research agency that’s dedicated to making a positive impact. Empathetic, nurturing, and smart, they care deeply about their clients, their people, and making the world a better, safer place for everyone.
Why You’ll Love This Role
As part of a prestigious global communications group, they bring the scale and resources of a large network with the agile, friendly culture of a boutique team of 30+. As a WORK180 employer of choice, their benefits go beyond the basics:
✅ Hybrid working – the flexibility to balance work and life
✅ Flexible hours – because they trust you to do your best work
✅ Inspiring offices – designed for creativity and collaboration
✅ Conference attendance – they’re invested in your growth
✅ Progressive parental leave – supporting families of all kinds
✅ 25+ days annual leave – for work-life harmony
✅ 1:1 mentoring – because they care about your career
What Sets Them Apart?
They’re methodology-agnostic, using a blend of qualitative & quantitative research, cultural insights, and behavioural economics to dive deeper into people, culture, and behaviour. Their research shapes policy, enhances services, and tackles real-world issues like homelessness, mental health, sustainability, and education.
The Role
As a Senior Research Consultant, you’ll lead meaningful, impactful projects from start to finish. Your hands-on role will span client management, survey design, qualitative fieldwork (like in-depth interviews, online communities, focus groups, and ethnography), project management, and translating data into stories that drive change.
With a qualitative focus, you’ll be confident leading focus groups, in-depth interviews, ethnography, observations, online communities, and behavioural interventions. You’ll thrive on the variety: from designing behavioural nudges to reduce emergency calls , to ethnographic studies on at-risk drivers, to shaping communications around water safety bushfire preparedness , and recycling initiatives
