Our client is a consumer-centric brand strategy & research agency with an award-winning culture and entrepreneurial vibe.
Having just celebrated their 10th birthday, the team of 20+ is stepping into an exciting next stage of growth.
A boutique (but global) agency with offices in Melbourne and the USA, they specialise in FMCG, shopper, and retail insights. They deliver recommendations that shape brand, product, and retail strategies and partner with global consumer brands across all categories.
By understanding consumers emotionally, they believe brands build stronger connections and sit at the intersection of qualitative and quantitative insights to understand what and why. Multidisciplinary, their toolkit spans – strategy, qualitative research, advanced quantitative analytics, shopper insights, and human-centred design.
The Role Overview:
With a seat at the leadership table, you’ll be the face of the qualitative insights division – acting as a hands-on practitioner who loves getting stuck into everything from start to finish.
The work is completely customised across Brand Strategy, Visual Identity, New Product Development, Behavioural Change, Shopper Experience, Concept Testing, Cultural Insights, Innovation, and Strategy. You’re someone who loves variety – and gets a kick out of finding the "ah-ha" moments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a constant stream of ad-hoc projects
- Forge strong relationships with existing and new clients
- Write winning proposals
- Unpack client problems and design methodologies
- Consumer engagement tools – groups, workshops, ethnography, shop-alongs
- Synthesising, analysing and contextualising data
- Winning new business and spotting opportunities
- Delivering impactful, creative and visual insights
- Storytelling, workshopping & presenting to clients
- Mentor a happy, high-performing team of junior qualitative researchers
- Contribute to thought leadership and the growth of the qualitative division within the multidisciplinary offering
- An experienced senior qualitative researcher & strategic leader
- Agency-side experience – market research/brand strategy/planning
- Proven experience working with FMCG brands
- Excellent qualitative toolkit – groups, workshops, in-depth interviews, ethnography, shopper safaris, in-home immersions
- Expert storyteller, facilitator and presenter
- A creative, entrepreneurial ideas person
- Previous experience mentoring juniors, building teams and developing careers
- 4-day working week with full pay
- 5+ weeks annual leave + unlimited unpaid leave when you need to hit pause
