Research & Insights Account Director - Strategic Leadership Role

Job description

Are you ready to help shape the future of one of Sydney's most dynamic boutique research agencies?

Our client, an exceptional boutique research and insights consultancy, is seeking an experienced Research Account Director to join their innovative team as they continue their growth trajectory. As a key 2IC, you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact across not only the design and delivery of meaningful research but also setting the tone of culture and their future vision! This is a rare opportunity for a researcher who enjoys hands-on work and wants to continue developing and elevating their consulting and analytical thinking capabilities.

This forward-thinking agency is method-agnostic, expertly blending cutting-edge qualitative and quantitative methodologies with technology to solve complex business challenges. Their diverse portfolio spans brand positioning, segmentation, pricing strategy, CX/UX optimisation, and technology-focused research for both Australian and international clients, including markets in Japan and Korea.

Beyond traditional research execution, the Account Director will serve as a strategic partner to clients—managing projects from initial pitch through to final presentation. They will develop bespoke methodologies, generate actionable insights that drive business decisions, and mentor junior team members to nurture the next generation of research talent.
Commercial acumen, ability to craft compelling data narratives, and relationship-building skills will be central to success in this role.

This role has a quantitative lean (while still utilising qualitative methods when needed), so it’s essential that you have hands-on capabilities in designing, analyzing, and delivering quantitative survey data end-to-end.

What’s on offer?
  • Strategic leadership position with direct influence on company direction
  • Accelerated career progression with mentorship from the agency founder
  • Five weeks of annual leave
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangement (3 days in office)
  • Prime Bondi Junction location near beaches, cafes, and shopping
  • Dedicated professional development budget
  • Annual strategic planning retreats
  • Personalized learning and development program
The essentials:
  • 6-7+ years in market research or insights roles
  • Proven ability to lead quantitative research projects end-to-end
  • Experience with qualitative methodologies
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Strategic thinking and business problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities

This is a rare opportunity for advancement in a collaborative environment where candidates can make a meaningful contribution to the agency's continued success.
