🌏 Research Manager - Opinion, Political and Policy Polling

Job description

Politics. Public opinion. Policy shifts. If you thrive in the fast-paced world of public affairs research, this is your opportunity to work with a global insights powerhouse shaping conversations that matter.

We’re looking for a quantitative (or quant-leaning dualist) Research Manager to dive deep into political polling, advocacy, and public affairs research—working with Australian clients including political parties, NFPs, government, academic institutions, and social agencies to help them understand the pulse of the nation in real time.
With a federal election on the horizon, momentum is building, projects are flying in, and your work will have a real-world impact.

The Role:
We’re after a hands-on, full-service researcher with quantitative market research agency experience—someone equally comfortable with survey design and data analysis as they are with storytelling, client presentations, and strategic thinking.
Your focus? Helping organisations understand what Australians really think about major issues like housing, education, healthcare, and government policies.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing and running quantitative research projects (ad-hoc and tracking) from proposal to presentation.

  • Building trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Working across opinion polling, segmentation, social research, brand tracking, campaign evaluation, trust and reputation.

  • Leveraging cutting-edge research tools including custom research, syndicated tools, AI, and trend analysis.

  • Collaborating with a tight-knit, high-performing team that thrives on trust, respect, and bold thinking.

Why This Role?

  • It’s fast, dynamic, and impactful. You’ll work on multiple projects at once, keeping things fresh and exciting.

  • Global reach, local feel. While the Australian office has a boutique feel, you’ll be part of a global agency operating across 50+ countries, with access to world-class research tools and a massive global panel.

  • No agenda. Just data-driven insights that fuel better decision-making.

  • Smart, passionate teammates. You’ll work with some of the best minds in the industry, solving complex problems every day.

  • Flexibility is built in. Hybrid working (3 days in-office), competitive salary, and industry-leading benefits.

About You?

  • A quant-focused researcher (or a dualist with strong quant skills) who can juggle multiple projects with confidence and clarity.

  • 4/5+ years commercial agency experience

  • Someone who’s genuinely interested in politics and public affairs and excited by the idea of shaping conversations.

  • A natural storyteller who can turn data into compelling insights.

  • A sharp thinker who thrives in a fast-moving, always-changing environment.
