Research Manager - Public Affairs & Opinion Research

Job description

About the Company
Think big and become part of a globally renowned research agency operating in 50+ markets, serving major brands, governments, and institutions. This organisation combines scale with agility to deliver precise business and social insights that drive informed, strategic decisions.
With a broad range of services including bespoke consumer insights, syndicated tools, sports insights, public affairs research, and fuelled by proprietary AI tech, this agency offers robust learning opportunities.

The Role: Research Manager
Sitting with a specialist team focussed on opinion and polling research, this role focuses on delivering the most accurate, timely, and relevant polling on key political issues, elections, advocacy, and quality of life. As Australia approaches the Federal Election, this is an exciting time to join a team with real momentum and impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and managing customised, client-facing research projects, with a strong quantitative focus (or a dualist with a quant lean).

  • Managing end-to-end research processes, from proposal development to final presentation.

  • Leveraging cutting-edge tools and technology to deliver insights.

  • Working with a diverse client base, including political parties, non-profits, academic institutions, government bodies, agencies, and pharmaceutical companies.

  • Conducting research across opinion polling, customer segmentation, advanced analytics, brand research, and campaign tracking.

  • Helping businesses and organisations understand public opinion on issues that affect them and their engagement with government.

  • Potentially managing one or two direct reports.

About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys the variety of multiple customised projects. If you have:

  • Strong quantitative research skills with hands-on experience in customised research.

  • A passion for political and public affairs research.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

  • A desire to contribute to meaningful research that shapes the future of Australia.

Culture:
This agency trusts and empowers their people with hybrid, flexible working (3 days in the office). Cultural values are centred around being fast, fearless, accurate, and fostering trust and respect among team members. Promotions are based on merit and not annual cycles, lovely social activities connect the team and there are ample opportunities for long term growth.
This is your chance to be at the forefront of public opinion research in Australia. If you’re ready to make an impact, apply today.
