Qualitative Director - Consumer Insights

With offices in Australia & the USA, our client is a boutique consumer-centric brand strategy & insights consultancy.
  
What makes them unique is their ability to understand consumers from multiple perspectives.
  
They use diverse thinking and methodologies, qualitative research, advanced quant analytics, UX, brand strategy, design thinking, ethnography, and shopper research to find stories in data.
  
All projects are ad-hoc, so you’ll enjoy a constant stream of varied work on topics such as – brand strategy, package design, innovation, NPD, communications & brand identity. Partnering with clients from supermarket giants to restaurants, retailers and FMCG brands across every category, they love the variety of interesting problems they solve!
  
As the agency grows, they’re excited for a qualitative insights strategist to join them, leading projects from initial prop through to final presentation, with a key focus on translating research insights into strategic recommendations and actionable tools.
We’re looking for quallies that love delving into the consumer psyche to find the spark of insight that unlocks a category or brand opportunity and inspires clients to action. A senior role within the agency, you’ll be involves in all elements of the process from initial pitch through to final presentation delivery! 
  
About you – the essentials:
  • Qualitative research – Proven agency experience designing and running qualitative research projects pitch through to presentation, hands-on facilitating fieldwork. Methodological tookit - focus groups, in-depth interviews, workshops, in-store observations, ethnography, shopper-safaris, shop-a-longs and ethnography with room to bring new ideas to the table!
  • Strategic thinking – an ability to think beyond the obvious and find ah-ha moments that spark brand transformation
  • Client leadership – consistently delivering strategic insights and managing key client relationships with an ability to communicate with stakeholders across all levels
  • Storytelling – ability to draw upon mixed-method qual/quant thinking, delivering visually engaging story-led presentations with clear recommendations for clients
  • Business development – confidence in writing proposals and pitching to clients
  • Team management – an engaging mentor with a genuine desire to join a fun, innovative agency where your voice will be heard and ideas welcome
